Robilee
Frederick - Terra Incognita
Reception: November 17, 2005, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Artist Biography
Terra Incognita, the name on
old maps given to unexplored areas, is an appropriate metaphor
for Robilee Frederick's risk taking new work. Frederick's
mind has always been curious, questioning, and willing to
cut through veiled memories of the familiar to the hidden
worlds within. Captivated by ancient carvings of spirals,
circles, zigzags, and early labyrinths, Frederick uses these
forms within her work to illumine her outer life.
