ACCESS Program | Younhee Paik
May 27 – June 26, 2010
Reception: Saturday, June 5, 2010, 3:00 – 5:00 pm

Younhee Paik, an artist participating in the ACCESS Program, derives inspiration from nature and the constant challenge of finding ones place in the vastness of time, space, and beyond. "I try to explore and express my ever expanding perception of the relationship between the physical and the spiritual," writes Paik.

Many of the images that appear in her work are memories from her childhood in a Korean fishing village: the waves of the ocean, ships on the water, and stars at night. Floor plans of cathedrals and the geometry of New York high rises also play a role in her paintings.
